Announcing the Associate Chair for Cavalcade 2017

We are happy to announce that the Associate Chair for Cavalcade 2017 will be Antoinette Schoar from MIT. Professor Schoar will join Chair Heitor Almeida (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and Vice Chair Amir Yaron (University of Pennsylvania) on the team.

We are now less than two weeks away from Cavalcade 2016. If you have not registered yet, please do so at the Cavalcade 2016 web site. Reminder: Everyone who plans to attend–including presenting authors, co-authors, discussants, session chairs, doctoral students, and University of Toronto faculty–must register.

Extra Hotel Rooms Added for Cavalcade: Book Quickly!

Due to demand, we are able to offer a few extra days of the Hyatt room block for Cavalcade 2016. There are now only deluxe rooms remaining so the price has increased to $249/night (Canadian). AFFECT Breakfast at Cavalcade 2016

AFFECT (Academic Female Finance Committee) will host a breakfast at  Cavalcade 2016 on Monday, May 16, 2016, from 7:30am – 8:45am. Special SFS Journal Paper Presentations at Cavalcade 2016

Cavalcade 2016 will feature special presentations from both the Review of Asset Pricing Studies and the Review of Corporate Finance Studies.  The RAPS presentation will take place on Monday, May 16, at 3:45pm. The presented paper will be “The Impact of Hedge Funds on Asset Markets” by Mathias S. Kruttli, Andrew J. Patton, and Tarun Ramadorai. The RCFS presentation will take place Tuesday, May 17, at 3:45pm. The presented paper will be “Spillovers in Local Banking Markets” by Mark Garmaise and Gabriel Natividad.
