SFS President Matt Spiegel’s term is ending on June 30. Current SFS Vice President Laura Starks will be the new President. Josef Zechner will be the new Vice President. In addition, the SFS welcomes the following new Councilors: Renee Adams, Allaudeen Hameed, Tarun Ramadorai, and Karin Thorburn. We thank our retiring Councilors: Alex Butler and Amy Dittmar. All changes are effective July 1, 2017.

The 2017 Society for Financial Studies Annual Meeting will take place at the 2017 Finance Cavalcade at Vanderbilt University on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.

Beginning January 24, we are putting our check payments temporarily on hold for all three journals. This is due to both staff leave and updates being made to our bank accounts. The Society for Financial Studies is pleased to announce that the host of Cavalcade 2018 will be Yale University. The conference will be held May 21-24, 2018. Congratulations to Yale on their winning bid!

If you are a member of the SFS Cavalcade North America 2017 Program Committee, please be reminded that your reports are due today, January 18.

The dates for SFS Cavalcade Asia-Pacific 2017 will be December 13-15. The conference will be held at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University, in Beijing, China.

We are thrilled to announce the location of the first-ever SFS Cavalcade Asia-Pacific! The conference will be held at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University, in Beijing, China. Congratulations to Tsinghua University of their winning bid! The conference will take place December 13-15, 2017.

If you are a member of the SFS Cavalcade North America 2017 Program Committee, please be aware that the reviewer assignments were sent out today. If you have not received your assignments, please contact Jaclyn Einstein. Reviews are due by January 18, 2017.

The submission period for Cavalcade North America 2017 has ended. For information on the conference, please visit the Cavalcade North America 2017 web site. If you submitted a paper, you can expect to receive a decision in early February.
