The 16th annual SFS Cavalcade North America conference took place May 18-21, 2026. The Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, served as the Cavalcade’s first ever repeat host, having previously hosted in 2012.
The Society for Financial Studies expresses our gratitude to our host faculty sponsor, Marc Lipson, to Shannon Diminick of Diminick Event Design, and to Laura Stamp and the team at Darden.
Receptions were generously sponsored by Cornerstone Research and the Mayo Center for Asset Management.
The program was selected by Chair Joshua D. Rauh (Stanford Graduate School of Business), Vice Chair Stefano Giglio (Yale School of Management), and Associate Chair Stavros Panageas (UCLA Anderson). Over the course of 3 days, 144 papers were presented, covering a wide variety of topics including climate finance, fintech and AI, and monetary policy. Reviews from the over 600 program committee members helped the Chairs consider the nearly 1500 submissions.
The SFS Membership Meeting took place on Tuesday at lunch. Marc Lipson introduced Darden’s interim Dean, Mike Lenox, who welcomed the attendees, followed by presentations by SFS President Phil Strahan and SFS Treasurer Laura Field.
