(April 2025)
To promote replicability and reproducibility in the social sciences, the RFS may publish comments that advance scientific dialogue and debate. This may include comments that document errors in previously published work. The editorial board will determine whether such comments meet the standard of publication, namely, whether they materially move forward the field of academic finance. In some cases, the RFS may also publish replies from authors, if they advance scientific debate and meet the editorial standard of materially moving forward the field of finance.
In some cases, corrections or retractions of previously published work in the RFS may be warranted. In such cases, a committee of the editorial board will be appointed to conduct a time-bound investigation, and to make a recommendation to the Executive Editor on the most appropriate course of action. The process will maintain confidentiality, in keeping with best practices of peer review, and decisions will be guided by COPE best practice. Among the possible outcomes are no action, a published expression of concern, publication of corrigenda/errata, retraction and replacement, and retraction.
