2017 Appointments

SFS Vice President Laura Starks was appointed as the new SFS President. Josef Zechner was appointed as the new Vice President. The following were appointed as new Councilors: Renee Adams, Allaudeen Hameed, Tarun Ramadorai, and Karin Thorburn. RFS Executive Editor Andrew Karolyi was appointed for a second term. All changes are effective July 1, 2017.


2016 Appointments

Raman Uppal and Josef Zechner were appointed to second terms on the SFS Council. All changes are effective July 1, 2016.


2015 Appointments

The SFS Council reappointed Jennifer Huang and Adlai Fisher to serve a 3-year-term on the SFS Council. Paolo Fulghieri has been appointed to a second 3-year-term as RCFS Executive Editor. All changes are effective July 1, 2015.


2014 Appointments

The SFS Council nominated Matthew Spiegel as President, Laura Starks as Vice President, Andrew Karolyi as RFS Executive Editor, Craig Holden for a second term as Secretary/Treasurer, and Wayne Ferson for a second term as RAPS Executive Editor. The SFS Council also nominated Josef Zechner as a new SFS Council Member, to serve the remainder of Laura Starks 2-year-term, and reapoointed Alex Butler and Amy Dittmar to second 3-year-terms on the SFS Council. All changes are effective July 1, 2014.


2012 Appointments

The Executive Committee of the SFS formed a Nominating Committee for selecting the President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Society for Financial Studies. The Committee appointed Richard C. Green to serve  as President and Craig W. Holden to serve as Secretary/Treasurer beginning July 1, 2012.


2011 Appointments

The Executive Committee of the SFS formed a Nominating Committee for selecting the next Executive Editor of The Review of Financial Studies. The Committee has appointed David Hirshleifer to serve for a three-year term as the Executive Editor, starting July 1, 2011.

The Executive Committee of the SFS formed a Nominating Committee to nominate candidates to be the next President and Vice President of the Society of Financial Studies. The Committee nominated Kenneth Singleton for President. The Committee nominated Matthew Spiegel for Vice President.


2008 Appointments

The Executive Committee of the SFS formed a Nominating Committee consisting of Ravi Jagannathan (Chairman), Wayne Ferson, Richard Green, Kenneth Singleton, and Mark Weinstein to nominate candidates to be the next President and Vice President of the Society of Financial Studies. The Committee nominated Maureen O’Hara for President. The Committee (excluding Kenneth Singleton) nominated Kenneth Singleton for Vice President.

The Executive Committee of the SFS formed a Nominating Committee consisting of Ravi Jagannathan (Chairman), Wayne Ferson, Richard Green, Kenneth Singleton, and Mark Weinstein for selecting the next Executive Editor of the Review of Financial Studies. The Committee appointed Matthew Spiegel to serve for a three-year term as the Executive Editor, starting July 1, 2008.
